About Me
Meet Yun Young Choi
Yunyoung Choi is a K-Beauty makeup artist, hair stylist, and beauty educator with over 20 years of professional experience in Korea and the U.S. Her career includes 10 years as a Senior Trainer at MAC Cosmetics Korea, along with work for L’Oréal, Maybelline, major fashion shows, film festivals, and beauty events. She has also taught professional makeup techniques at beauty academies and university beauty programs in South Korea. Now based in Fullerton, California, Yunyoung specializes in bridal, engagement, doljanchi, and special-event hair and makeup. Her signature style focuses on creating balanced, youthful K-Beauty looks tailored to each client’s individual features.

What is Yun’s signature hair and makeup style?
I specialize in natural, radiant K-beauty looks that enhance your best features and photograph beautifully. My signature style combines glowing, flawless skin, soft eye makeup, and clean, modern hairstyles such as effortless waves, sleek buns, and elegant low updos.
What services can I book?
I offer bridal hair and makeup, special-event styling, photoshoot hair and makeup, and one-on-one personal makeup lessons.
Do you offer wedding hair and makeup trials?
Yes. I highly recommend scheduling a trial before your wedding. It gives us time to discuss your vision, explore different looks, and create a polished, comfortable style that will last throughout your special day.
Can you provide services for my wedding party and groom?
Yes. Makeup by Yun offers hair and makeup services for mothers and bridesmaids, along with grooming services for the groom and other men in the party. For groups, reach out early so timing, services, and availability can be coordinated for everyone.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair and a bare face. Do not apply sunscreen, as your service will begin with customized skincare selected for your skin. Please wear a button-up shirt, zip-up top, or another garment that can be removed without disturbing your finished hair and makeup.
Where is Makeup by Yun located, and are on-location services available?
My studio is located in Fullerton, California. On-location services are available for destinations within approximately two hours’ driving distance. Travel availability and fees may vary depending on the location.
Do you offer personal makeup lessons?
Yes! If you feel like you lack makeup knowledge, want a fresh new look, need help finding the right products for your face, or want to master using the products you already own, we invite you to take on the challenge!
Will Yun personally provide my services?
Yes. I personally provide both hair and makeup services. For weddings with four or more additional party members, I collaborate with a professional hairstylist to keep the preparation process smooth and on schedule.
Do you offer reception hair transformations?
I do not travel to the venue solely to provide a hair transformation. However, I can create a convertible style—such as a half-up, half-down look that transitions into a low bun—and show you how to change it easily for the reception. This allows you to enjoy two distinct looks without booking an additional on-site service.
